Nani Hohokhiia is Associate Professor of History at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University at Poltava, Ukraine, where she received her PhD in 2003. Her research focuses on the ideology, reality, and memory of childhood in Soviet Ukraine. In 2016 she was a research fellow at the Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen (Vienna). Since 2020 she expanded her expertise to the histories of the Holodomor and the Holocaust in Ukraine. In 2021-22 she received a research grant from the Holodomor Research and Education Consortium (HREC) of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta. In 2020 and 2021, she participated in the US Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Initiative on Ukrainian-Jewish Shared History and the Holocaust in Ukraine. In 2022 she was a research fellow at the Faculty for History and Arts at Ludwig Maximilian University at Munich.
