Robert Devetak holds a PhD in History and is a research associate at the Institute for Ethnic Studies in Ljubljana, with a primary research focus on the Slovenian community in Italy from the 19th century to the present, including topics related to social and economic history, women’s history and nationalism at the turn of the 19th to the 20th centuries. He is also interested in refugees and the civilian population during the First World War. Devetak is assistant professor in the Cultural History programme at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Nova Gorica. He has published several original scientific and professional articles and monographs, and has presented his work in numerous radio interviews, symposia, round tables and exhibitions.
